History of the company:
Although Eastwood Clock Repairs is a recently founded company, the tradition has been passed
down over three generations. The owner James Taylor has always been brought up with engineering and horology.
His Grandfather John Taylor and Grandfather's brother both served a seven
year apprenticeship and continued to work as clockmakers, for J W Carrol a major Clerkenwell
of London company, who rented timepieces to shops, offices and businesses etc. James himself completed a full engineering
apprenticeship in 1992 and proceeded to follow the family tradition of horology.
In 1998 we were pleased to welcome to our team Martin Mills. Martin has worked in the
clock and barometer field for the last 32 years, and is an expert in all horology and barometers. Martin worked for "Negretti
and Zambra" in Aylesbury for 6 years as a mercurial instrument expert and freight adviser, and has a great
knowledge, in both the antique and modern.
As well as establishing an extensive private customer database of clients, Eastwood Clock Repairs
have also secured many contracts in the local area, inculding a major, independant jeweller's chain of shops and
an International manufacturers after sales support contract/Service centre. We also carry out work for local antique
dealers and have a strong relationship with "Spink Antiques" of Leigh-on-Sea.
